About Two Sons Construction

Established in 2022, Two Sons Construction began by providing residential construction services to government agencies and subcontracting services to larger general contractors.

What Sets Us Apart

Luxurious Essentials

We splurge where we should, and we conserve where we can

Universal Design

We build for the current and future needs of our customers

High Performance Options

We respond to the energy and functional needs of our customers.

NC General Contractor License Number: 99504

We specialize in constructing affordable, luxury homes. We prefer to construct smaller homes that range in size between 725 and 3000 heated square feet. Our smaller footprints are built with luxurious essentials, and each home comes standard with universal design features. We offer high-performance options for those customers who seek a more comfortable, energy-efficient home. Though, all of our homes are built with LED light fixtures and WaterSense faucets.

We apply these same principles to our renovation projects.

Luxurious Essentials

We believe builder-grade products need not be bottom-of-the-quality-barrel, and we think new homes should be built with finishes that you’ll want to keep year after year. Since homeowners spend hard-earned money on their homes, we believe flooring, cabinetry, countertops, wall coverings, and finish carpentry work — those finishes that are felt and seen everyday — should reflect and reward that well-deserved investment.

Furthermore, we know those higher end finishes will allow our customers not only to invite over friends and family in joy but also to rent out their home on the short-term rental market, if they choose to do so.

Universal Design

Our homes are built to serve the needs of all owners and guests. Indeed, our homes are designed to accompany and shelter an owner throughout his or her entire life, even when that homeowner’s needs change. From utilizing rocker switches and lever door handles that meet the needs of the owner after a grocery store run and the needs of that same owner after hand surgery to our 36-inch wide doorways that accommodate wheelchairs and allow for furniture to move-in and out more easily, our homes are simply better.

High Performance Options

We all know high-performance cars are defined by what’s under the hood, yet what about high performance homes? Our high performance options are available for those customers who seek to invest in “behind the wall” or “between the wall” upgrades. Such upgrades will reap lower, monthly operating costs and enhanced livability.

By upgrading certain components of a home, we can build an ultra-comfortable, healthy, quiet, sustainable home that consumes little to no energy from the grid. Even if a homeowner has no interest in a net-zero home, high performance upgrades such as increased insulation, air-barrier sealing, sound dampening between rooms, and window upgrades increase the comfortability and livability of a new home.

Lane Peterson

Lane Peterson

Lead Construction Specialist

Meet Lane Peterson, a skilled craftsman with a passion for creating remarkable structures. Although he is now dedicated to building beautiful homes, Lane’s construction journey began in a completely different realm–the world of boat building.

Born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona, Lane was always captivated by the allure of the sea. His fascination with boats and the art of constructing them took root early on, and he decided to pursue his dream by studying boat building at the prestigious Landing School of Boat Building and Design. With unwavering determination and an eye for detail, Lane honed his skills in the delicate craft of shaping, assembling, designing, and finishing sportfishing yachts for Bayliss Boatworks.

During his time as a boat builder, Lane gained invaluable expertise in working with various materials, understanding the intricacies of design and mastering the art of precise measurements. However, as if it were planned, Lane’s path eventually diverged from boat building and led him to work with Travis in the world of residential construction. Drawn by the prospect of creating spaces where people could build their lives and make cherished memories, Lane transitioned his skills to focus on building homes that would stand the test of time.

Today, Lane’s reputation as a skilled builder and his passion for his craft have made him a rising star in the home construction industry. His peers respect him, and most all of his staff have learned something new from him. Lane’s journey from boat building to residential construction showcases the power of following one’s passion and the ability to adapt skills across different disciplines. As he continues to shape the world around him, his unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and his deep love for creating exceptional spaces will continue to leave an indelible mark on every project he undertakes.
